Making the Leap into a Home Based Business

Succeeding with a home based business isn’t as hard as it sounds. It’s a completely attainable goal, but like any worthwhile venture, a few things are required on your part.

First, you must have a compelling REASON.

Ask, WHY must I succeed with my home-based business? What is MISSING in my life and what elements of my current 9-5 routine MUST be eliminated NOW?

Personally, I hated feeling trapped, and feeling that I had no control over my financial well being – my livelihood was at the whim of my employer. I found out how real that was when my job became a casualty of the rough economy. All my hard work & talents didn’t matter at that point.

Tied to that, I also craved a job where I knew my efforts were directly contributing to the income of the company, and thus, in a real sense, increasing to my own bottom line as well. When you’re tied to an employer, that’s limited, but when you start YOUR OWN home based business, the sky’s the limit.

As a working mom, it was also painful to leave my child everyday. I wanted to watch him grow rather than hear second-hand stories of the silly things he does and I KNEW that succeeding in a home based business would get me the incredible freedom I sought.

These are my reasons. What are yours?

Secondly, BELIEVE that success is possible.

If you DON’T believe that success with a home based business is possible, you WON’T succeed. There’s no question about it!

I already knew that there were LOTS of people making great livings working from home. Just do a little research online and you’ll be overwhelmed by the many stories of REAL PEOPLE making REAL MONEY on the Internet. If they could do it, so could I. My hurdle was learning the process these successful people were using and then duplicating and adapting what I learned. Third, you MUST ACT!

All the information in the world is worthless, unless you ACT. There is so much information available regarding home based businesses, that it’s easy to get stuck in the due diligence phase. You’ll never learn it all; there will always be someone else wanting to share a new technique or new business model. Stop analyzing and GET IN THE GAME! Really and truly, you’ll learn the most once you’re inside the circle and actively working on your own business.
